Fungus Rock dive site is located at Dwejra on the west coast of Gozo, some 700 metres south of Azure Reef and Blue Hole. Fungus Rock is a small islet at the entrance of the circular lagoon of Dwejra Bay. The massive limestone rock, also known as Mushroom Rock or General’s Rock, rises almost vertically about 60 metres high above sea level.
Fungus Rock is a boat dive; the boat is anchoring in Dwejra Bay which is well protected from possible waves or swell. Depth inside Dwejra Bay is between 8-14 metres, with shallower reefs on both sides of Fungus Rock enclosing the bay.
On the open sea side of the rock, the bottom drops steeply to depths over 60 metres; Fungus Rock is suitable for advanced divers. The underwater scenery offers vertical walls, large boulders, small caverns and swim-throughs, fissures and gulleys. In addition, there is a cave at 14 metres which extends far in.

Comments and Ratings
★★★★☆ A 3 star Dive when dived to recreational depths. A Solid 5 star when dived down to the 60m range. Hence a 4 star rating. Below 40m this dive site has very impressive sponge and red algae growths making it a very colourful dive! https://youtu.be/EnoVX1RGQto
Sea Life has always been lacking here every time I visited. Otherwise the topography is quite nice.
