Slugs Bay is a shallow reef dive site situated on the north side of Mellieha Bay in north-eastern Malta. Slugs Bay reef has an abundance of marine life and a natural rock arch formation. The seabed consists of rocks, sea grass and sand with a maximum depth around 12 metres. On the east side of Slugs Bay, in an area of small shingle and sand, divers have found fossilized shark teeth.

Slugs Bay is suitable for all levels of divers. This dive site is often used for scuba diving training and try dives. The sandy bottom areas offer safe place for practicing skills. This is also nice place for underwater photography. The bay is sheltered from the north-northwesterly winds, and mostly dived when conditions elsewhere are not favourable.

Slugs Bay can be dived either from the shore or by boat. There are two entry/exit points for shore dives, one from the concrete jetty and the other from the rocks next to the jetty. Parking is approximately 40-100 metres walk away over uneven terrain, and the dive site is accessible only with 4x4 vehicles. Beware that the jetty can be very slippery when wet.

☆☆☆☆ Nothing special ;)
Tia Silvanto, May 2015:
☆☆☆☆ Cannot really recommend this one, access is a bit difficult and the dive is not worth it.
Mika Tanninen, April 2015:
☆☆☆☆ I had very boring dive here. Maybe good for snorkeling.
